Solved Printing to HomeGroup does not work

PC 1 (Windows 7) is USB connected to a printer and is in the homegroup.
PC 2 (Windows 8) is in the homegroup, and the printer is visible when I click print.
Both PCs have Norton Internet Security.
Both PCs are awake, and the printer is on.
Both PCs have Network discovery, File and Printer Sharing, and Allow Windows to Manage Homegroup Connections on.

When I try to print from PC 2, I get no output and no visible error messages.

Do both PC's have the drivers for the printer installed?

I selected 'install the software without connection of the printer' and installed the driver. Printing from PC2 still did not work. Could Norton Internet Security be the problem? If it is, I don't know how to 'fix' it.
On PC 2, I opened Windows Explorer/Network/name of PC 1/the shared printer, and saw files queued to the printer on PC 1.

I don't have Win8. Does it have a Devices and Printers in the start menu? If so click on Add a Printer and select Network Printer and see if it's found, then click it and Add.

With Windows 8 it was all fairly automatic for me, I would investigate Norton and make sure it's firewall isn't blocking it.

From PC 2, the printer on PC 1 is 'installed.' I tried to install it again as a network printer, but Windows 8 doesn't ask whether it is a network printer.

I'll see what I can do with Norton. I suppose I'll need to temporarily disable the firewall.

Printing worked fine when I disabled the firewall. I'll pursue with Norton. Thanks to all!

IT was suggested to me that my Norton firewall may be the cause, but I could not find any settings relating to the network devices.

Very good, yes I'm sure Norton has a method for allowing network devices though it's firewall.
