Solved Privacy using memory stick

W7, Office 2007 or 2010.
Something that has puzzled me but is probably common knowledge to people here.
If I have a memory stick containing private Windows doc and jpeg photos and plug it into someone else's pc, then open it and faff about with those files without seemingly connecting to the 'host' pc in any way, will some of the contents of the stick be left behind on the 'host' pc after properly disconnecting and removing it?
In normal use Picasa seems voracious to me; it gobbles up and loads my photos into its memory when all I want to do is to perhaps straighten a picture. It then leaves little files that I discover later.
If, whilst on the 'host' pc, I voluntarily used it to work on a private file on the memory stick, would it gobble my private files/photos from the stick and download them onto the 'host' pc?
If I opened a photo and the 'host' pc immediately used Picasa to open it (if that is possible), would these private photos be left on the 'host' pc?
Thanks for any replies.

Hello habb,

Yes, Windows and Picasa will keep some history of recent opened files.
Windows will also keep a small copy of the photo of the thumbnail in a folder, picasa does too '.picasa', but in the folder of the currently opened image.

Fortunantly the program 'CCleaner' can cleanup the recent history of opened files:

Becareful checking random things in Ccleaner, you could easily remove saved passwords with it.

Good luck ^^.

Thanks for the replies.
My reason for asking was that I hope to sell my house soon and there might be a period between selling and buying when I will want to use someone els's pc to look at my money files on a memory stick.
Dare I say it - I haven't got an ipad/notebook/whatever else they are called, and I have never needed one up to now.
There are only a few of us left!
Thanks again.
