Hello!

So, I have Windows 7 installed on 2 HDs, One which is 1TB and one which is 500GB, so the Windows 7 on the 1 TB HD sorta "broke" (thats another story and is irrelevant I belive) and became unusable, so I got the 500 GB HD and installed Windows 7 on it and started using at as my main one, and so I moved the files from the 1 TB HD to the 500gb one (there wasn't really much to move, only about 140 GB) and then formated the 1TB HD (it had two partitions), and now they are empty. But when I boot, it still gives me the option to boot from the 1TB HD, but when I try to do that, it gives me an error saying something along these lines "Cannot boot, since a file is missing". So how would I
a) Remove the Windows 7 from the 1TB HD?
b) Remove the partitions from the 1TB HD?

If something is unclear, please ask.

:)

Did you go into your BIOS and change the boot sequence? It sounds like the BIOS is still booting into the 1TB instead of the 500GB.

Well it doesn't boot to it, it just shows the 2 options, which I can boot into. So its like:

Windows 7 (500GB)
Windows 7 (1TB)

In that order, obviously the HD isnt showed.

Again, did you go into your BIOS and change the boot sequence? Set your first option for your DVD and your second for the partition that has your OS. Do not set a third option.

Yes I did, didn't change anything.

And as for Golden, ill put on quotes what I said on my starting message

it still gives me the option to boot from the 1TB HD, but when I try to do that, it gives me an error saying something along these lines "Cannot boot, since a file is missing".

OK. And when you boot from the 500GB option....what happens then?

As bigmck says : only have two options:

1. The DVD/CD
2. The 500GB HDD

Nothing more.

Type msconfig into Start/search and hit Enter. Then go to the Boot tab and remove the one you do not want.

The 500 GB one is the working one.. And in BIOS there is only the 1 TB one which is WD Caviar, but no samsung.

Type msconfig into Start/search and hit Enter. Then go to the Boot tab and remove the one you do not want.

This was the solution! Thank you Whs!

Mmmm....your description about what you see in your BIOS isn't making any sense whatsover.

Glad you got it sorted out anyway.

Golden
