Hi I am new to the site but have read through lots of threads pertaining to the Catalyst control centre and cannot find an answer. I have followed all the steps suggested when others have asked but I'm not sure the people giving the solutions are actually understanding the problem.

When someone says can't find Catalyst control centre the answer is always go to ATi (or Nvidia) site and download the lastest drivers or the auto detect and this will solve the problem....it DOESN'T! The problem is not with the drivers or the actual control centre, the problem lies in locating the control centre within the pc and actually opening it.

I have searched my pc using various terms to locate and open the Catalyst control centre but to no avail although when I click on the desktop and then click on the AMD vision engine control centre I get a pop up box that has the title Catalyst control centre: Command line interface that seems to scan so obviously the control centre exists on my pc but how do I access it? Am severely confused! Thanks for any help.

Click on Start > All Programs > AMD. Alternatively it may be minimised to your Notification Area (it usually places itself in Startup so should start when Windows starts).

1) Search for "CCC.exe" in explorer.

2) Type "CCC.exe" in Windows "Search programs and Files" option. Once located, click to open or right click and send to Desktop(Create Shortcut).

If you want to know were it lives, right click and select "Properties". It will show in what directory it was stored.

Hi thanks for the info, found it using Manigue's method however now when I click it, it says it's stopped working! I tried fixing the shortcut but still to no avail. I have a problem with the graphics and a pc engineer friend suggested before I replace the onboard Graphics with a new card I should check the settings using the Catalyst control panel but it seems that won't be possible. Is there any other method of checking? Cheers.

There's nothing you really need to check if you're going to be adding a dedicated GPU to be honest, you only really need to know what resolution you're running at. It sounds like your installation of CCC is corrupt, can you remove it via Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and reinstall it?

Is CCC set to run at startup? Click on the Start button and type msconfig into the text box, click on the program and then click on the startup tab on the window that opens, see if it's in there.

Thanks Boozad yes the programme is there and set to start up so it looks like you are correct and it's corrupted somehow. I will have to look at deleting and reloading it when I have an hour or so to spare. Thanks again.
