I’ve never had this problem with Windows.... when functioning properly, you should be able to plug and play automatically.
That's not the point. It works. It just doesn't assign the drive letter I'm replacing. If the drive I insert in the dock is a different size I get the next available drive letter rather than the one I was using. If it's the same capacity, it will give me the same drive letter back even across reboots. But I haven't added any partitions in the meantime. I don't know how it will act then. But I wouldn't necessarily blame PW. Everyone else who has used it says it's top notch.
