I was trying to upload an updated Macrium WinPE .iso to the OneDrive folder where I provide that .iso. The file size is 156MB.

I followed the upload speed in Resourcws Monitor. At first, it runs at 30Mb/sec which corresponds to my line speed. But after a couple of minutes it goes down rapidly and after appr. 3 minutes it is at 3Kb/sec. At that speed it would take 135 hours for the upload.

For a test I have also uploaded a 45MB video file. That uploaded at full speed all the way. I uploaded that same video file to Youtube and the upload was done in appr. 4 minutes.

What could be the problem with that 156MB .iso. I tried the naked file and the file in a .zip folder - same result.

Wolfgang I would surly like to be able to help you. I can only think of two things.
1. A security program is slowing the ISO.
2. The last goofy batch of Windows Updates have changed something.

I wish I had better suggestions.

Hi whs

There is a reference here Increasing or decreasing upload speeds in OneDrive (formerly known - Microsoft Community, but I don't think it says much...

"Update for Windows computers: The OneDrive desktop client has recently been updated to improve syncing performance. As a result you may see increased usage of upload bandwidth on your computer. If this change negatively impacts use of your computer or other devices on your local network, you can make the following change:

  1. At the far right of the taskbar, in the notification area, right click on the OneDrive icon. (You might need to click Show hidden icons to see all of your icons.)
  2. Click on Settings
  3. Click the Performance tab
  4. Uncheck the box next to Improve upload speed by uploading files in batches."

Thanks guys for the suggestions. But that is not it. I upload directly from the browser to the folder on OneDrive. And I need to keep that folder because everybody knows that URL.

But now I have another idea - maybe I try Chrome inlieu of IE.

Hurray that worked. The problem was the IE. With Chrome it uploaded in 7 minutes. Now I am happy and everybody can download the latest version of the Macrium WinPE again.

Thanks again guys for your inputs. It triggered the right idea.
