I have attached a zip file containing a Problem Steps Recorder file to show the situation:

Hi, to get to the basics of my problem, first this is how we change wallpapers, right????

Right click desktop>Personalize>Desktop Backgrounds and by default, I can look for wallpapers and wallpaper slideshows in these categories:

Windows Desktop Backgrounds
Picture Library
Top Rated Photos
Solid Colors

But when I choose either Pictures Library or Top Rated Photos, my pictures in those categories won't appear, but surely, I have rated photos and there are pictures in My Pictures and Public Pictures folders that it should detect them by default without using the Browse button. Clicking at those two would still show the group where my current desktop slideshows are kept, in this case a folder in my D drive called Part 1 which is surely not in the My Pictures Folder. I have to manually add My Pictures folder which creates another entry in the droplist that I don't even know how to remove along with the non default entries namely, Arts, Alternate Partition and Part 1 which were added to the droplist by using the Browse button.

If I choose either Solid Colors and Windows Desktop Wallpapers, the pictures in those categories would still appear.

I made NO registry fixes before this occurred but it started happening since I installed Windows Dreamscene for Windows 7 which modifies and adds a few registry data.

I know it was still working before I installed Dreamscene just today.

Dreamscene on the other hand, seems to work perfectly.

It has to be in the registry, how can I fix it????

Erm ... now when you say 'working' .... ?

Pictures in those categories will only appear if they have previously been used as desktop wallpapers. It does not scan the entire folder and present whatever's there automatically. You still need to browse if you want to include new items.

However, it does look as Dreamscene is the cause of any problem you're having which means, I'm afraid, that the registry entries involved are probably essential to Dreamscene running. If you change them then you will almost certainly lose Dreamscene as a consequence. So I'm afraid it's a choice between Dreamscene and the wallpaper functionality you're used to. I think it unlikely that you can have both.
