Hi, my name is Ira and my sister has just got a netbook (Gateway EC1404K) with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. Trouble is, when I tried to connect the netbook to my network, it seems to refuse to acknowledge the existence of my network. I don't know if I've provided enough information but everything's in the screenshots. What makes it even more odd is that when I connect it with cable it seems to work. I've searched over the internet and no one seems to have the same problem, so any ideas on what is wrong and how to fix it? Thanks.

Edit: some more info: it wouldn't allow me to edit the "unidentified network" name as well

Hmmm. It seems the name of your network is (Ira's network), but it says Undentified network and that it's Public on the same page, I find that quite odd. When you go to the network and sharing tab does it list any Networks at all? If it is listing other Networks and not yours try giving your Wireless Router a power flush. What a power flush is: all you have to do in unplug the power to your Router, wait 30 seconds, then plug it in again. Go back to your Sister's network and check for the wireless connections once again.

If it's still a problem try checking with another Laptop or Computer that has wireless on it and see if it can discovery the network.

If by the Network and Sharing you mean what is on screenshot, then yeah, Ira's Network is listed.

Other computers have no problems in getting into wireless network either.
