Ever since I got this new card, I've been getting crashes when the card is under heavy load. I know that the graphics card is causing it, but I don't know if the card is faulty or if there is some other issue causing this. This is the first time I got a BSOD, usually the screen just goes black and I have to reset.

System specs:

CPU: Intel i5-2500k
Motherboard: ASUS P8P67 DELUXE
RAM: 16GB DDR3 Corsair
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 RX 850W

TheBigSwede, hello and Welcome to Seven Forums. I'll see if I can help you with this. First I'd like you to do something that can help us both. Please fill out your system specs in as much detail as possible along with Manufacturer and Model. Sometimes we have to look up a component and can't without proper information. Also please include your PSU and CPU Cooling if Possible. These are the instructions I usually give. Maybe they will help you.

Please fill out your System Specs

   Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html

You have Dump files going back to 12/2012 all with the same error code. 116 which is a video card issue. That is the same issue you are having now. The older ones were with an AMD card, it appears. To me, that indicates another problem. When you changed cards. did you completely uninstall the AMD graphics drivers?

Your current dump file lists this

Code:
[/COLOR]VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (116)
Code:
[/LEFT]
Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed.
[LEFT]Arguments:Arg1: fffffa80114984e0, Optional pointer to internal TDR recovery context (TDR_RECOVERY_CONTEXT).
Arg2: fffff8800f9c3340, The pointer into responsible device driver module (e.g. owner tag).[LEFT]Arg3: ffffffffc000009a, Optional error code (NTSTATUS) of the last failed operation.
[LEFT]Arg4: 0000000000000004, Optional internal context dependent data.[/LEFT]
[/LEFT]
[/LEFT]
If it helps you, here is your Dump file from December 2013

Code:
Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed.[/LEFT]
[/LEFT]
Arguments:
[LEFT]Arg1: fffffa8013d36010, Optional pointer to internal TDR

recovery context (TDR_RECOVERY_CONTEXT).[LEFT]Arg2: fffff88003d90db8, The pointer into responsible device
[LEFT] driver module (e.g. owner tag).Arg3: 0000000000000000, Optional error code (NTSTATUS) of the
[LEFT]last failed operation.
[LEFT]Arg4: 0000000000000002, Optional internal context dependent
data.

[/LEFT]
The only real difference is the Dec. 2013 problem was with

Code:
Probably caused by : [COLOR=red]atikmpag[/COLOR].sys ( atikmpag+8db8 )

Which is an AMD driver.

Your current problem is with

Code:
Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for [COLOR=red]nvlddmkm[/COLOR].sys

Which is an Nvidia Driver.

Please fill out your other system specs a completely as possible. I would recommend you to make sure that all remnants of AMD drivers are removed. You can do this by following this tutorial and selecting only AMD display drivers.

Next, I would download and install the latest WHQL Nvidia driver, but do it this way
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/327414-nvidia-drivers-avoid-problems.html see if that makes any difference, and let us know the outcome.

I think there is a link missing for the tutorial on how to remove the AMD drivers. However, I have already used Display Driver Uninstaller to remove the AMD drivers. When I tried to uninstall the NVIDIA drivers Windows uninstaller wouldn't let me uninstall the PhysX driver, so I used Display Driver Uninstaller to get rid of everything instead. The same crash happened again after I reinstalled the NVIDIA drivers.

I'm not sure what you tried or how, but the PhysX Driver can't be uninstalled in Safe mode. If you tried it that way, it could be the reason. I still think you have some other problem besides the card. You have about 50 Dump files in the past 11 Months. I didn't check them all, but the ones I did check were almost every one a Graphics Driver.

The old NVIDIA drivers were all uninstalled when I installed the new drivers. A lot of the crashes are from me running stress tests on the GPU while trying to the card to work. Is there anything I can do to find potential problems?

The best thing to do would be if you can find a friend who will change cards with you. Both need to be similar in Power consumption and get clean driver installs. Try his, Good Known Working card in your machine and your card in his machine. That should be convincing proof, whether it is the card or something else going on.

I returned the card, and got a replacement. The new card works as far as I can tell.

That's great how long have you been using it? Long enough to put it through it's paces?
