Hi!

I have problem with sound on my laptop (Asus x50sl) ever since I switched from Vista to Windows 7.It sounds like this:Sound problem by zmajtolovaj on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free (that is the most extreme tearing up I encountered)
It shows up when I'm playing games or when I'm watching a video on sites like youtube and browsing the internet simultaneously(most obvious when I'm scrolling). someties sound "tears up" even when I log inot windows.

I've tried the generic windows driver, driver from realtek site and driver from the laptop manufacturer and none of them made a difference. I've even tried disconnecting the laptop and testing the sound on my laptop speakers and problem remains.

Any suggestions welcome.

I can't hear any problem with the sound clip you posted. Maybe a different clip would let us hear what the problem is?

I have a recording studio so I'm very attuned to sound distortions.

The Driver from the Laptop vendor, providing its a Vista/Win 7 32 bit driver, is the preferred driver. Non vendor drivers many times do not work or do not work correctly.

I have the same issue

I have an ASUS K53S 8GB RAM running windows 7 64bit

And I have the exact same problem! The tearing in that clip is a very small amount of what I am experiencing. I have also tried updating every single driver i could find. And they were all up to date anyway.

Possibly we can hear it but freberd can't because its not the clip with the tearing it's when we play the clip we get the tearing.

I get this tearing when doing absolutely anything, windows startup, skype, steam chat, gaming (dota 2, starcraft 2, dead island, CSS), you tube (only >= 720p), itunes plays fine ALTHOUGH when i do something else while music is playing, like open eclipse or netbeans or open a new web page (chrome) i get large tears in the audio.

It occurs with the built in speakers, external speakers and also a regular (non-usb) headset.

It's not ONLY when i'm online...

Because of this I have a feeling that the tearing occurs when the processor spikes. I'm not sure how to test this or show why. Will try to record an example or maybe video the spikes in processing power and show they match with the tearing.

Please help! This is starting to FRUSTRATE me.
