Solved Problem with two RAM-Sticks @ Dualchannel

Hi,

what happend:

i made a new Win7 Ultimate 64bit install.
Install was good without problems.
After the install and a few minues running the system i had graphicerror: whitelines and glitches.

System error:
...no Display that is connected to a GPU from NVIDIA...

I thought it is may because of the win7 default driver for my card.
After installing the nvidea drivers and a restart the resolution became minimized and still strange graphicglitches.

Sometimes the systems freezed.

i deinstalled all graphic drivers.

and runned the windows updates and installed all possible urgend updates.

still graphicglitches.

the problem now:

my guess(or hope that it is not the graphiccard) was that a RAM blowed up.

So i tested each (2@Dualchannel) RAM 2048DDR3 and let it run single.

ALL WAS GOOD!

I throwed in both again ... same issues!

AMD64, welcome to the Seven Forums.

First thing is that whatever is reporting that it is DDR3 is wrong as that motherboard only supports DDR2,

ASRock > Products > ALiveXFire-eSATA2

As for testing the memory, grab the ISO of memtest,

Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

and test each stick individually.

Yes, sorry it is DDR2.

Will test the sticks and report back.

I tested both rams with no error result.

But now after testing 3 hours the PC does nothing anymore... mainboard?

Have you installed the chipset driver for the 64 bit version.

If you would please fill in your system specs in your profile area, that would help out a lot.

Welcome AMD64, did you try the memtest on each RAM stick in each RAM slot as well. Pull out the graphics card and put it back in to re-seat it, remember there is a clip to release it.

Filled out the sysspecs.

Very strange but the system booted up now.
The board has 2x2 ramslots the manual says only put in 2 @ same time. But it works somehow with 1. I still get the same issues if i throw in both.

I not installed any drivers yet. Only made a win7 clean fresh install and updated it with any possible updates. A update microsoft had was a graphiccard driver from nvidea. Why shouldt i install any driver if the system not runs with the basic it shouldt.

Ok tit looks like a old issues with 4gb ram - asrockboard and win vista / 7

ASRock ALiveXFire-eSata2 fails to boot into W7RC 64 with 4GB installed

Biosupdate to 4.40 solved the problem.
