I'm not sure of the exact date, but it was around September 10th. I do remember that there was a security update to Net.Framework4.5.1. During the update the screen went blank and the computer died and then Re-Booted. That's when everything went sideways. I couldn't get any Updates for a couple but kept getting the notice that Net.Framework4.5.1 needed to be repaired. I scanned with Malwarebytes Pro, and every time I did I got a report that "Astromenda" was in 2 registry entries. I've tried everything I could think of (they were Quarantined each time) and still showed up on every scan. Along with that, I kept losing Desktop Icons and those remaining were always rearranged. And then I began getting a new install of Windows Live Mail- minus all my saved folders and any mail or anything else. It was a brand new program!! It did recover some things that I tried to reorganize twice but then I'd lose all again. I stopped the Update service and deleted all the downloads and after restarting MUS, I was able to begin downloading again. There were almost a Gigabite of downloads. Also, I did a Smart Defrag (from IOBit, and there were 18,099 fragments in C:. There were a lot more things that were haywire, but now the Updates have gotten done and hopefully things will begin to get back to normal. I haven't tried opening Windows Live Mail Again so that could be more fun to come. Has anyone experienced anything similar or had any experience or success with eradicating "Astromende"??

Welcome to 7Forums!

It seems that you have a type of ad-ware or malware on your system. I would recommend you try Adwcleaner

Also, run another scan with MBAM and post the logs for MBAM and Adwcleaner here please.

Rescanned with Farber Recovery Scan Tool

I ran Farber at the request of Mbam Support and sent the results to them for analysis. I hope this will lead to some light at the end of the tunnel. Since my original post, Windows Live Mail lost everything and this time as opposed to the last three, nothing has been recovered. I'm pretty sure that I finally got the results of the scan sent to Mbam. I asked them to confirm that. I'll continue to plug along! I had by the way run Adwcleaner yesterday. I'm pretty certain it's Astromenda and hoping someone can help eradicate it!
