Problems wit win 7 installation

What RAM were you using when you were having the problem?
DDR2 800 Mhz? Which brand? Timings?

What RAM did you install to solve the problem?

Sorry for the late reply!

My ram timings where if I remember correctly 1033 modules of V-data. I think it weren't the ram specs but the brand or just corrupt ram modules that gave me all these head aches. Now i got Corsair 1033 modules and no more problems what so ever.

I think i just had bad luck with the hardware. It being damaged or it being V-data.

Sorry that these results probably won't fix any problems... :S

Hello everyone,

I havent updated my GPU bios (yet)

But I got two BSODs out of nothing yesterday. I was just browsing internet and using dreamweaver at the time (I am not playing games).

I guess I will be switching back to XPs, but if you have any idea how to fix this I might give it a second chance.

I have the same motherboard and I'm still not able to make it work with Windows 7 and my ATI HD4650? The acceleration won't work. I saw that you have Windows 7 running on your motherboard. How did you manage this? I'm trying to achieve this for over a year. Can you please share the solution?

Run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to see what it reports about the GPU and CPU.

Which display driver are you running? Did Windows Update deliver a newer driver yet? Try all Win7 and Vista drivers available for that model.

I've made a clean Windows 7 installation yesterday. Everything went fine except that the graphics card acceleration wasn't working.

That issue is already well known out there and most of the guys are blaming GART drivers. Windows 7 do recognize my ATI HD4650 as a compatible device on the upgrade advisor but the problem comes from the motherboard. My motherboard uses nForce 3 250 chipset which is officially unsupported for Win Vista or 7. Yesterday I was able to see my ATI listed correctly on the device manager but with a yellow exclamation.

Then I tried to install the drivers that come with the cd (Gigabyte). Problem (Code 43) is occuring and the drivers won't install so no graphics acceleration. 'Guljio' managed to do this? How he did this??? I have tried various Catalyst versions. There must bee a compatible Vista GART driver which works in Win 7 or is it something else?

Did you try running with the drivers provided by the Win7 installer, which are quickly updated via optional Windows Updates? You should not change out these drivers unless performance dictates doing so. This is not XP. Win7 is the authority on which drivers it wants.
