I have 1 monitor connected to my graph card and 1 in my motherboard, but the monitor connected to my motherboard does not display and my PC does not find it and i tried to detect it with Catalyst Control Center and that didn't work either.

Like maybe there is a program that lets me use on-board graphics and graphics card at the same time.

Would be awesome to get some help.

If its needed here is my PC Specs etc:
Graph Card: I got 2x XFX Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-GD55, Socket-1155
Power supply: Chieftec Nitro Series BPS-950C 950W PSU

When i was running dual monitors the graphics card had 2 ports. The problem with this is that you can only use either the graphics card, or the onboard graphics card. You can't use both at once. Atleast this is what I learned. There could be a way, but never found one.

With that set up, you should have both monitors plugged into the top graphics card via DVI or HDMI.

Then right click the desktop, go to screen resolution and there should be an option to "Extend displays" this will allow both screens to work.

There will be a similar option in CCC but I am not familiar with it so cannot tell you where it is.

Paul.

Was I correct about not being able to use the onboard video and a graphics card at the same time?

Not too sure on that, but there is certainly no need to even try it when he has 2 x 7950 graphics cards in his rig! That is one powerhouse of a rig, he could run 6 screens off them cards if he wanted to lol.

Well shoot, barley even looked at that. lol. I don't see that point in running 6 screens hahaha... i mean, unless you do a lot of programming. Or college research haha

For the past couple of years, certain motherboards allowed the use of onboard video along with an pcie graphics card.
My brother used his onboard hdmi port on both of his AMD based Asus boards to run a third monitor, which was his HDTV. The gtx260 ran his 2 desktop lcds.

There may be a bios setting that allows the onboard to be active along with the pcie card.
I'll ask my brother what he did on his machines to enable both.

Oh, just curious why you don't plug both monitors into the same card on your computer?

Technically, he could run 8, since each can run 4 screens, 1 dvi, 1 hdmi, and 2 display ports.

Well that's pretty cool. I have never heard of that before. I guess my model didn't have it. Which is lame because I used to have an extra monitor. When you find out from your brother let me know.

I'll ask him today, he just moved to a house and has been busy moving stuff and I haven't been able to catch him.

He can't remember, but is almost positive there is a bios setting to keep the onboard active along with an add-in card.
