problems with my wintv-hvr-1800 card

Hi,

I recently acquired a hauppauge wintv-hvr-1800 card and proceeded to install it in my computer. windows sees it and its in device manager and all drivers are up to date...but when i try watching tv through beyondtv, it says theres no card installed....another problem i have is that when i try using windows media center for tv, it wont let me move past the part where i plug in a dongle for a remote....is a remote absolutely necessary to use wmc??

If you bought the MCE version, you would have the dongle and remote, I assume you did not, so you may not have an MCE compatible tuner.
