Solved Programs Missing From Control Panel Programs List

Let's see if 'unhide' restores them. Unhide.exe (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/unhide.exe) (by Grinler)
Once the program has been downloaded, double-click on the Unhide.exe icon on your desktop and allow the program to run. This program will remove the +H, or hidden, attribute from all the files on your hard drives. If there are any files that were purposely hidden by you, you will need to hide them again after this tool is run."

Just for info I never found a cure for this and ended up doing a reinstall today. I couldn't be happier, my last install seemed buggy and this one went off without a hitch, so far!

You obviously had some file corruption going on. In this case, a fresh install was a good choice.

I fixed it by doing a complete reinstall. I couldn't find any other solutions and everything just seemed too weird for me and after thinking about it last night I backed everything up, again, and just went for the reinstall. Sometime that's just what you need to do. Reminded me of the Win2K/Win95 era when I did a reinstall every couple of months LOL

My system is running sweet now. I even upgraded to Office 2013 and some other software I'd been lacking on upgrading on.

When you accidentally got Optimizer Pro and if by chance it ran. It could of cause all kinds of problems.
Another one to watch out for is Advanced System Care.
When these types of programs are run they do so much damage that you have to do a clean install.
