My monitor supports DVI-D input and the PC itself handles HDMI output. I needed a VGA cable for an older computer and juts saw fit to buy an HDMI to DVI cable for the PC instead. That should arrive in tomorrow's mail.
What are the proper steps to switch over from VGA to HDMI? Do I connect both cables and then select an output? Do I reboot the PC first? I know the monitor has an input selection option under its control menu, but I'm wondering what steps I need for the PC. Also, as far as audio goes, I think the PC will let me select my audio device regardless of what's plugged in, correct?
