Race Driver - Grid in Windows 7

I just installed it and when I ran the game for the first time, at the menu screen it was all black. My screen was all black! I couldn't see anything! Could you guys plz help me? It's a really good game and I don't want to miss out on it.

hey, I'm installing it now so I'll post back how it went after. I'm almost sure it was working well in my previous Win 7 installs.

Grid works fine for me in 7000 and 7068 64 bit . My problem is my Nostromo games controller won't work with it,even though it is recognised and i can adjust it etc

I will be following this thread to see how you get on, as i need my Grid fix, and would prefer to be able to get it without having to boot to XP.

Yeah. It works great for me and I had the same contoller problem. Until I figured out that you have to remap the controls by hand for each button (accelerate, braking, power brake etc...)

Game now works a treat for me. 1680x1050, mostly default settings, some advanced ones raised and I'm getting about 20 fps which seems alright.

Can anyone confirm if this works on RC 64bit? It seems to have an issue on my setup but there could be multiple reasons for that. Just wanted to see if anyone got it running. Well go from there. Thanks!

Race Driver Grid

I have it installed on Windows 7 RC 64 bit and running on an ASUS Rampage Gene II, i7-920 and GTX285.

Grid works flawlessly here on 7127 x64. Have you managed to sort it evanspec?
You may want to consider updating from the 7068 build to a more recent one, either 7100 or 7127, although grid has worked on all my builds up to now.

You may also want to try updating gpu drivers.

Aight, I haven't updated the version of the OS yet. I also have just taken the files off my computer. The funny thing is I just installed the original Sims game on my computer.

If anyone wants confirmation that GRID works in Windows 7 RC 64bit:

I have my team that I start playing last week, I currently have $3359124 and have already fired 3 teammates, and I have won 34 races in 45 attempts, and have 12 trophies.

And it has never ever giving me so much as a hiccup. And I have not patched it from retail, either.

It could be a number of other factors - for example, what AV program are you using? (I use Avast! and I always turn off the protection when racing for posterity's sake - but with my settings cranked up to max and my res cranked up to 1680 x 1050 off a pair o' 260s SLI'd and OC'd to 636/1371/1107 I am still pounding 60fps solid....

Hey Guys! figured out my issue now im racing like a champ. I image my games and I happen to copy it to an external drive was/is dying. The data was probably corrupt. The original disc works 100% with out a hitch.

I am having the same issues as the first person. The videos work fine, but I can't see the menu. I even got into a race, I could see the dials and map and etc. But, I had no track!!
