Hello,

I have just bought two brand new WD 500 GB RE4 HDD's and connected them coorectly for RAID 1.
I have changed the BIOS and Pressed Ctrl+F to create the RAID and this has been successful.
When installing Windows you obviously get to the aprt where you need to load the floppy drivers to locate the drives...

I have downloaded ever driver from the Gigabyte support drive and loaded them onto a USB, not one driver can be seen when the USB is "Browsed" too...

How important is it that the drivers are on a floppy, as I do not have a floppy drive or access to a floppy and drives.

Also what driver should be downloading as I tried the 3.2.1540.17 one and that was not seen, so I just downloaded them all in an attempt for success.

Any one with any advice its greatly welcomes thank you in advance

Yep, I was just looking at that - and it seems you have the correct driver.

Is this a brand new installation of Windows 7, or are you reinstalling?

Ok,

In your manual pg.91 it specifically refers to a Floppy Disk for the driver (its quite an oldish motherboard), so unless someone can work out how to do that from a USB, then I'm not sure how else to do it......

Something to check : in your BIOS, is the "USB Legacy" setting or similar turned ON?

Not necessarily. There are 2 distinct SATA storage interfaces on that motherboard, one provided by the South Bridge (which is the driver you've tried), and the other by a Gigabyte SATA2 chip. Try the GIGABYTE SATA2 RAID Driver.

hello, i have just plugged both the drives into the purple slots (the G,SATA ports) and now it comes up:

"NO Araray Defined...

Press CTRL+F to enter FastBuild Utility"

I press this and now only number 4 - "Controller Config" is working, I cannot press 2 - Define LD to set up the array :s
So now the HDD's are not RAIDed, shall I skip past this and still try the install by pressing F6 during the Windows setup?

OK...it really should be able to read the driver from a USB - copy to driver to separate FAT32 formatted USB (not the one you are installing Windows from!)

oh, there are no options it simply states the model build and another number, no more options other than Esc - taking you back to 1,2,3,4, and then when you press 1,2,3 nothing happens;
I have seen many people with this problem before on forums but cannot follow up with any more info
