Ram timings

I have two matched pairs of 1600MHz RAM the G Skill is an 8 8 8 24 (8GB) and the Patriot is 9 9 9 24 (8GB) timings is it ok to run these sticks as an all up 16GB of RAM?? or will I have conflicts??

Your already know the answer to your question but here is a reminder.

Always use matched ram.
Mixed ram modules will almost always cause problems.

With all the problems you have been having why create more problems?

voltage chap. voltage is one area i can think of. Should the two DIMM pairs be different, the BIOS could select the lower value to protect your equipment, only that not necessary provide a bootable computer, if you get my meaning.

John, Jack's advice is spot on. But you already knew that.

If you want to try an experiment, you could try installing all the RAM as you were asking about and running it at the highest timings for the sets. In this case 9-9-9-24, as the Patriot RAM is slower than the G Skill, you would need to run the sets at the Patriot timings. As long as the voltages for the RAM are the same!!

This might work, though I would not trust the system without eight passes of Memtest86+ and a good burn in like Prime95, testing lots of memory.

In the end, if it were me, I would just buy another set of G Skill, exactly like the ones you have and be done with it.
