Hi guys!
Good day!
Wanted to ask if I can add 1 - 8GB(1X8GB) CRUCIAL BALLISTIX SPORT LT DDR4 2400 MHz TO make it 2x8gb CRUCIAL BALLISTIX SPORT LT DDR4 2400 MHz

Reason: the ram that I have now is way cheaper than before so planning to buy extra 1x8gb stick for better performance :)

My PC Specs:

RYZEN 3 2200G 4 CORES 4 THREADS 3.5GHZ (TURBO 3.7GHZ) WITH VEGA 8 GRAPHICS AM4 PROCESSOR
MSI A320M-msi a320m pro-vh plus AM4 MOTHERBOARD
8GB(1X8GB) CRUCIAL BALLISTIX SPORT LT DDR4 2400 MHz

Thanks in advance.

I for one don't believe in the idea of maxing out memory. You are no better off with 16 gb than 8 if all you ever use is 4 or less as most of it will sit there unused. Now if you continually use 6 or more then maybe you should get more just to make sure that you don't run out which would result in continually using virtual memory. In your case a second stick would get you dual channeling but don't think automatically that 16 would get you better performance than 8 if all you normally use is 3-4. I can put 16 gb in one computer and 64 gb in another but I don't because 8 is plenty for me and I run virtual machines. Technically you can add memory as long and the specs match because according to the manual your motherboard supports 32 gb.

Thanks you for the information. I would probably need extra 1x8gb on the same specs for gaming :)

Depends on the game. Look up its specs.

If you don't want to have memory problems, buy same brand, same chip sets, same speed and timings.
Use HWinfo to see all the specs or your current memory.

Thanks for the link. I definitely will check those rams on the list.
But if I buy additional Ram with the same specs would it run better for games?

Depends on the game. Look up its specs.

It has to do with how much is needed. Look at the game's specs, they all have them, and go by the recommended guidelines. I'm not sure if you will really see a performance increase with dual channeling but you will see a performance increase if 8 gb isn't enough for your needs. You might want to read up on it before spending money. You may want to start with these.

Food for thought. Thanks!
Well, I tried Esports games and so far it has been working well most especially dots 2 which on low settings at 720p. Got around 80 fps and CSGO at 70 fps. I'll definitely stick my specs for now and since I have a family on my own instead of upgrading it, I will use the money for important things instead.

Thanks so much!

Thanks everyone for the responses!
Stay safe and happy gaming :)

I've only got one stick of memory in my new computer because I didn't want to pay $100 for another, however I haven't looked to see how much it would cost to buy straight from the manufacturer. I'm not having any issues but I'm not doing heavy gaming with it. If you are having satisfactory performance doing your most demanding tasks it really comes down to how much it costs, how much you have, and can you justify it. I can't answer that for you.
