Ram utilisation???

hii guyz my pc has 2 gb ram installed..but it dont uses more than 800mb ram even during heavy tasks..my pc hangs during some heavy tasks rather than using all ram..
what shoul i do to make mp pc use all ram ???
i hv win xp sp3 32 bit...

Go to msconfig>boot>advanced
Uncheck maximum memory

Have you tried switching the ram in the slots?

Its not always ram you know fill in your system specs
