Why won't my RAM usage go below %80 anymore? It used to go under %50 but now it won't. I have 2GB of Corsair Gaming 800 MHz RAM. I have tried changing my theme to Windows Classic and using a program called CleanMem but nothing makes it go lower.

In msconfig under startup 8 items are checked, and the 80% is coming from the cpu monitor gadget.

Electro is probably right on the items loading - do you have a lot of software loading during start-up?
You could try msconfig to delete some of the startup entries - those that are not essential.

My CPU Usage stays under 15%, and my memory is 980-995MB

The 980mb range seems about right.

I'm sure a few of your start up items can be disabled as well.

Based on what you stated, that equates to about 50% of your total ram.
Perhaps you have a faulty gadget?
