So when I open up Chrome, my RAM usage goes up by 5-6 GB, sometimes even more.
Everyone knows Chrome is a memory hog, but the weird thing is, when I close it, my RAM usage won't go down (I have 16 GB of RAM, and my usage often shoots up to 12 GB). I checked Task manager showing all the processes, but all of them combined add up to 4-5 GB at the most. The only thing that brings the usage down is rebooting. It's like there's an invisible service or process that is triggered by Chrome, and stays there. I disabled the Windows Update service, which can take up memory, but it barely made a dent. I also scanned for viruses and malware, and come up empty.
Anyone know what's going on, and how I can ferret out this rogue process?
