Hey all.

So for a good while now, I've had this problem with my laptop where it'll do the usual Blue Screen stuff, just without the actual Blue Screen (the screen goes completely black); this usually happens just after a file from the Internet has finished downloading, though it has also happened while the laptop is idling.

As someone who really dislikes asking for help, I attempted to analyse the dumps myself and find people with similar problems, though I could never come to a conclusion as to what's wrong. So here I am, asking you guys.

The steps in the BSoD posting guide produced a .zip file with the two dumps from the minidump folder, though it excluded the dump in the Windows folder; would it be beneficial to post that one up too?

BlueScreen Viewer won't help seeing it is a 0x7A where according to the dumps there is large memory corruption.

It is clear your hard drive is failing, you need to backup your data a.s.a.p. and replace the hard drive.

Right, which is curious because it's been like this intermittently for the past year or so.
If it was going to fail, you'd think it would've done so by now :s

Thanks for the help :)

Depending on how much bad sectors your hard drive can handle it can be good for quite some time, but seeing the transfer rate minimum that low a few times is a strong indication of a failing hard drive.

Ah well. I guess I needed an excuse to get a bigger hard drive, seeing as 149 GB is very small by today's standards.

Thanks again!
