Random BLue screens

1 - check in C:\Windows for a file named MEMORY.dmp Let us know if it's there or not.

i have a menory.dmp file thats big, but date last modifiyed was 5 days ago. so thats a bit old and the last mini dmp was 1 or 2 days back. from the last mini dmp i had like 5 BSOD and no dmp to show for them.

i have now turned off verifier and am waiting for a BSOD to see if i get a dmp file.

in the mean time i am going to install the intel Rapid Storage Technology from intel's site and see if it makes a diffrence.

thanks for the help

hi there,

i installed my ATI card again and was actually doing nothing, the card had passed 2 hours of Furmark. the PC was idleing on the desktop and got a BSOD lucky it created a mini dmp.

i keep getting a message that the VGA driver failed and windows managed to repair it, this has happened with both VGA cards nvidia and ATI.

here is the link for the big MEMORY.dmp file.

Issues with both cards tends to suggest a problem with the mobo.
Let's have a look at the memory dumps:

The large MEMORY.dmp file is a STOP 0x1E error and it blames the Windows kernel.
And it shows these older drivers:

Rename the ENTECH64.sys file to ENTECH64.BAK (it's in C:\Windows\System32\drivers).
Uninstall the Razer and Ideazon software, then remove the keyboard and mouse - and use another keyboard and mouse until we're finished troubleshooting.

So, let's try Driver Verifier again. Keep a close eye on the screen for the name of a driver. Here's a link to a picture: How To Find Bsod Error Messages (look for the text - "File that error occurred in")

I'm fairly convinced that there's a problem with your motherboard - based on the hardware problems that we've been seeing. DO NOT buy a new mobo based solely on my say-so - but consider it seriously. Also - check with MSI and Geil for the proper settings/timings/voltages for your memory (NOT "Auto") and see if that helps (just a hunch on my part).

6 different STOP errors? That's usually indicative of a hardware problem (as we mentioned before).
Have any of these errors occurred when Driver Verifier was running?
And you're still not having any memory dumps generated?

You mentioned that you were getting a new motherboard - have you installed that yet?
If so, which of the errors came after it was installed?

all these BSOD are while running verifier..

and no dmp files to show, seems when i turn on verifier it wont create dmp files.

as to the new main bored, the supplyers had no stock on the bored so only monday

alot of the errors seem to happen when im doing nothing on the pc, just idle on the desktop. rather wierd.

It's gotta be hardware - and most likely a problem with the motherboard.
Since you've determined to get a new motherboard, I'd just wait until you install it to see if that fixes things.

Hey, I read your original posts and just wanted to share an experience regarding memory.

I recently added memory to an old machine and started seeing problems. I did not correlate the two for several days. The problem was not obvious until it hung in SETUP mode.

Then, I pulled the new memory and my machine started working fine again. The problem stems from the memory maker did not correctly detecting my motherboard and causing the wrong memory to be purchased. The problem was such that I crashed occasionally and sometimes often, but not consistently.

Scrutenize your memory compatibility on any upgrade on an older PC. The same could be said for other system components.

It appears that you are running RAID.

Do you know what it is? If not, read this article: RAID - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Basically, it is multiple hard drives functioning as a single one, for backup or performance reasons.

Please disconnect one drive...leave only one attached. Set your SATA setting in your BIOS to "AHCI" or "non-RAID", which is the same as "IDE".

Your mouse drivers appear to be out of date. Do you have a standard mouse you can use instead? If not, please update the drivers for it.

You may consider installing the mouse drivers from the manufacturer, instead of generic Windows drivers.

I can understand about the RAID. Let's just break the array temporarily. If it turns out that the mouse drivers are the problem, go ahead and restore it, and see what happens.
