Nope not yet, have not had time, I am going to possibly start doing that tomorrow, I have had 3 BSOD's in the last 2 hours, all the same code too. So fresh install it is.
Once I am done with that, I will come back and update you. Thanks so much for your time.

Thanks.. Windows just tried to trick me into installing the latest nvida driver through windows update. I usually have it set so I can choose which updates I want, and since its a fresh install, it was set to automatically download and install. Caught it before it installed. hah!

Just wanted to give a little update.
Still installing everything, 1 by 1 to make sure its done right, so far its going very well. Computer is running like the day I built it. Also did as you suggested and blocked all the unnecessary startup programs besides Microsoft security essentials. And wow, what a difference on startup time. No more having to wait for this, and that to load before I can get online.

Well, Still no BSOD, however, there is something that is annoying me that maybe you can help me with.

I purchased a wireless PCI adapter for my computer, because we got new internet. I always put my computer in sleep mode when I am not using it, and before I did the fresh install. When I woke it from sleep mode, it would be connected to my network.
Now, When I wake it from sleep mode, it takes a minute or so for it to connect. I turned off power save mode, and that did not work, and now, I get home from work, and wake up my computer, and I had to actually click connect to my network, and then wait about a minute or so. Everywhere on my computer is checked to automatically connect. I am confused.

Oh, and the adapter is tp-link TL-WN851ND

*edit*

I reset my router to factory defaults, uninstalled my wireless adapter and reinstalled it, now it connects automatically, but does not hold a connection when in sleep mode. Like it used to

I still have to wait 30 seconds to a minute to actually get the connection before I can surf the net. It was never like that before I did the fresh install. it was as fast as I could type in my password for the computer I was on the internet.

Hi! Nice to hear that richphotos got rid of the crashing problem. I have had a couple of BSODs last days. It´s mainly referring to ntoskrnl.exe in the dump.

However I might have now found the cause:

Solved - BSOD Caused by ntoskrnl.exe (Bad Pool Header) | PC Help Forum

"Nvidias HD audio drivers they are well know to conflict with Realteks audio drivers"

I have these both so I think I´m going to have to ged rid of either NVidia HD audio drivers or Realtek´s drivers. Luckily my primary sound system is neither of these, so I´m hoping this finally does the trick. I will post the results.

4- 1gb sticks. I did the mem-test, But it still would not surprise me if the ram was bad, its over 7 years old.

And you are right, bug check 3b has a strange obsession with my computer.

seven years!? And yes sometimes memtest does not show errors. sometimes not even after 8 passes.

Do you have a friend or a neighbor you can borrow RAM stick(s) from? How many RAM slots does your motherboard have?

I unfortunately dont, I found a great deal on some ram at a local computer store, it will give me a reason to get some faster ram, and some new ram.
And my motherboard has 4 slots, Its the Asus m3a78-em.
Well off to work, Then to get some ram if they still have some. As always, I will keep you updated since you have been so kind to help.

Nice. I guess you should get 1 4GB stick first and see how the computer performs.,(For 3 weeks at least) + should of course match your motherboard config.

If the tasks you do on your computer require higher RAM than 4GB you can get more..later.

We'll be here for an update.

See you :)
