Hi there,
I have been working on my laptop for a while and got numerous problems but this blue screen of death error is the worst. It happens randomly and I can't pinpoint the times it happens. But what happens is I am just working and boom it happens. I am a hobbiest programmer and I do tamper with system files. Any help would be appreciated.

my basic specs are:
Windows 7 home premium 64 bit OS
Toshiba l500d laptop
4gb of ram 3.75 usable(thanks to the motherboard)
processor is dual core 2.3 ghz
Thanks

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

If you are overclocking STOP

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

Memory DMP is fine but probably too big to upload. If you have a Memory.dmp chances are your control panel isnt set for small minidmp as indicated in the instructions.

If it is too big to upload here you can also upload it to a file sharing service like rapidshare and put a link to it in your next post.

1. Please download the free version of Malwarebytes.
Update it immediately.
Do a full system scan
Let us know the results at the end.

Malwarebytes : Download free malware, virus and spyware tools to get your computer back in shape!

2. Symantec is a frequent cause of BSOD's.
I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

Please do JMH'S suggestions first as there is some evidence of Malware. After running the scan and removing Symantec please run a system file check

Your crashes are related to the CSRSS.exe (part of the OS) and the system file check should verify (and repair if necessary) it.

Thank you very much for your help I have had numerous problems with Symantec I have spent well over $2000 on computer technicians and they all say it's Nortons fault. So I will do what you guys have said and I will. Report back tomorrow probably afternoon because of school(I am 12).if your wondering where I got the money from it is from the jobs I have done with server sites.
