Hello,

I have a new Dell laptop with Win7 Enterprise which BSOD's every once in a while when I hit the power button. I previously changed the power button to Hibernate. It does not always BSOD every single time. It sometimes BSODs when going to, and sometimes when waking up from Hibernate.

The zip file is attached (I hope I did it correctly).

Thank you for your help.

Hi dmash.

The BSODs (all of them) reports that it is caused by Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 driver.
Code:
BugCheck E4, {1, 85d04848, 0, 0}

*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for Netwsn02.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for Netwsn02.sys
[COLOR=Red]Probably caused by : Netwsn02.sys[/COLOR] ( Netwsn02+fe298 )

Followup: MachineOwner
---------
But, the fact is that the driver is very latest.
Code:
98617000 988e4000   Netwsn02 T (no symbols)
    Loaded symbol image file: Netwsn02.sys
    Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\Netwsn02.sys
[COLOR=Red]    Image name: Netwsn02.sys
    Timestamp:        Tue Feb 18 21:41:48 2014[/COLOR] (53038644)
    CheckSum:         002BBFE0
    ImageSize:        002CD000
    Translations:     0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
So apparently it is not the right cause of the BSOD, and something else is causing the network blockage, making PROSet fail and causing the BSODs.

And when McAfee is present there, the first notion definitely goes on it, as it keeps an user safe from threats over network by blocking the network!

Uninstall McAfee Using McAfee Removal Tool. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Let us know the results.

Thank you for your help, Arc.

Unfortunately I cannot follow through with your suggestion to uninstall McAfee. This is a work computer, and the VPN always checks for latest McAfee definition, therefore if I uninstall it, I think my VPN won't work at all.

I'll just have to live with the BSODs.

I understand your situation.

But, as it is a work computer, you should consult with the IT department, if they have any alternative suggestions that may be applicable in this case.

Hello, Arc.

Our IT has absolutely no idea what causes the BSODs, which is what led me to this forum.
(Our IT is also unbelievably clueless in general IT support).
