Re-size Services Window Problems

Hello all.

Every time I try to drag the services window larger or smaller I get a "Display driver stopped responded and has recovered"; the monitor blacks out for a few seconds and then comes back unless I try to re-size the window again. It happens on either monitor; whether there is anything else open on that monitor or not. I re-size windows all the time and this is the first time I have had this happen. Is anyone else experiencing this error?

I would like to hear if others are having this same issue. Thanks!

Not having this problem on my computer, it is probably an Nvidia display driver problem.

Update:

This only occurs when I type services.msc into "Run" not when I open services thru "Administrative Tools", "Computer Management", "Services and Applications", "Services".

Just tried it and no problems here, it sounds like you may have to RMA your card Ted, it seems to be having a few strange issues.

It can't be the card (can it), as I have no problems in my Vista. I haven't tried this problem in my Vista yet, but I have checked the other issues I'm having and they don't occur in Vista.

I've got the "Send Feedback" window open and as soon as I do that I'll have a look at what happens in my Vista.

Try and stress it out a little by doing some game benchmarks and see how well it stands up.

Hello.


Well, I'm in my Vista now and I don't care how I abuse the window, the driver doesn't quit working; I tried it exactly as I did in my Windows 7. I did notice that doing so stresses the CPU, from the readout on the CPU gadget.

Mr Grim, maybe you can link me to a simple game benchmark app., I used to have one but with all the installations I've lost some of my IE favs.

I'm using the NVIDIA 181.22 Beta Vista drivers without having this issue. You might see if using them instead helps.

I finally got the driver updated and it seems to have solved this problem; but I'm still having the other issues pertaining to IE 8.

Thanks, I'll give that a whirl later when I have some time to figure out the results. If there's a problem with this card I need to get it RMA'd while it's still under warranty.

I'm inclined to think think it is a rendering issue with IE8 beta and the video drivers as well. I tend to get a strange rendering issue sometimes as well while I'm editing a post. I would send in feedback to MS on it to help make them aware of it. Hopefully it will be fixed on either the next driver, W7, or IE8 update.

Yes, I've sent some feedback so far and I intend to send more regarding this issue. I believe it's all of our responsibility to do all we can to help make Windows 7 the best it could be.
