hi everyone, i installed W7 ultimate 32 bit onto my laptop (EI system 1212) about a month ago as i was fed up with vistas slowness but ever since then whenever i play any sound be it music or watching a movie or anything the speakers make a horrible distorted crackling which makes it unbearable to listen to.
initially i waited for the next driver to be released and downloaded and installed it but to no avail, the crackling is still there.
one slightly odd thing is that when i uninstall the audio driver the sound returns to normal until i restart my computer.
i am at a bit of a loss as i have also recently installed cubase 5 and virtual DJ but cant use them now!
please help someone
thanks in advance
Paul

On the Dell users forum, some of the crackling has been traced to video card drivers. Try updating the video drivers and see if that helps.
