P.S. And as i can see, you guys definitely arent pro's/skilled in computers, cause you just found one bad word and started to cry and telling heroic stories about me, without reading everything first and trying to understand, what in my post was actually important :)

The difference in you and a 'Pro' is that a real pro does not have to run around and tell people he is a pro. And telling people they should throw their SSD in the air and shoot it to make the world a better place, is not being a pro. I really know very little about you, but we have people here who have forgotten more about computers than you will ever know. To believe that restart time or WEI scores tells you if you have a good computer says a lot about the person making that statement.

No matter what your restart time is or what your WEI score is has not one thing to do with having a good computer. If your computer runs well enough to make you happy and will do what you need it to do, it is a good computer for you. If you have to have the biggest, fastest and latest technology, I say go for it. But, if someone else does not require that does not make their computer 'crap'. Computers to most people are a tool used to get a certain job done. If their tool will do that and meet their expectations, it is a good tool. On this forum we do not tell people their computer is crap. We try to help them if their computer is not running to their expectations and help if they have problems. If the comments that have been made about your posts don't tell you that, Then perhaps you should re-read them. We come here to help people, not to insult them.

I dont really care if your pc is crap or not, that wasnt most important thing i wanted to say ;) I was just saying, that its not bad to know something about your pc, like if it has performance problems, what causes it, what other bad things can happen to your pc because of something, that causes performance problems. If you would know, what performance you should get with your pc components, then you could compare you actual performance with performance, that you should get, and then you would see, if everything is ok with your pc. Even if your pcs numbers are not bad, its performance says differently, unless there is a logical reason, what causes it, like startup programs :) And if you dont care about boot time, it can say few things about your pc (yeah, maybe it doesnt affect you calculations, but it definitely is affecting other programs start time), like if it works as it should, i.e., i now have laptop with core i3 2.4 ghz and c300 ssd, you can call it whatever you want, but most important thing is that its working as it should.

P.S. And as i can see, you guys definitely arent pro's/skilled in computers, cause you just found one bad word and started to cry and telling heroic stories about me, without reading everything first and trying to understand, what in my post was actually important :)
Don't post info for which you obviously know nothing about bud. I don't care what you think say or do Mr Pro. You are a professional what, auto mechanic, plumber? We often get trolls here who proclaim they are pro and tell us all what we do wrong. As Steve said if one is a true pro it shows in their writing and has no need to tell us so, lol.
Good to start my day with a heart guffaw.
Now I'll go play with my crappy PC and cry.

Gary, don't worry about it. nobody here, except maybe startas, thinks your computer is crap. Does it really make a difference if your computer starts in 28 seconds or 40 seconds? I doubt 12 seconds is the difference in a good computer and a piece of crap. Only someone who doesn't understand anything about computers would think that.
You're right Steve, kids! With editing I can show my PC to boot in 2 seconds if I wanted too. :p

Trolling maybe you are, but not me. Yet again, you just cant understand what i wrote, so your comment doesnt make any sense. I didnt said that you all arent pro's, just few who cry. And thats how computers work - identical computers with identical hardware/software should work identically in theory, and at least 95 % resemblance practically. Its not like computer didnt like the taste of electricity this morning and it decided to not work today, trolololol. But if you think that way, then, well, good luck.

Oh, I understood exactly what you said, you see, my brain is powerful enough to comprehend what someone has said. Let me repeat this for you since you had trouble with it the first time......computers with identical hardware will always run a little different. Wait.....let it sink in. There, we aren't talking in "theory", we are talking real life. Did you not make it through Computers 101? That is one of the first things you should have learned in there. Don't worry, you are in the right place to learn as we try to be a very helpful community. I can see from the day you joined, and how much you've contributed, you may want to spend a little more time reading and less time posting until you can get that brain/hand issue worked out, or it may be worked out for you. We are here to talk shop, help out, and learn.......you aren't doing any of those things.

Thats exactly the problem - you people just dont understand what i wrote, it looks like your brain isnt powerful enough to understand, what i what wrote, because you starting to interprete my words in your on way, and a simple joke you consider as flame war - really pro, concentrating on joke and starting flame war instead of understanding truth meaning of my words...

Plus i would like to add, that your instant negative mood against innocent people, just because your brain isnt powerful enough to process a simple joke and an usefull suggestion, is worth attention of admins, too.

All you care about is not getting some help, but finding reason to immediately attack people, so fukc you, cause its not like i needed help, i just wanted to help, but if you dont wanna get help, do as you want.

Back to the topic:

Laptop mentioned in my specs. MSconfig > Services shows 156 services are started when booted, 135 Microsoft ones and 21 others. All these services enabled at start. After reboot before any actions, Task Manager shows 69 processes, 98 for all users.

At boot at least all these programs and background processes are automatically started: Setpoint, WD Quick View, Send to OneNote tool, Shotty Screenshot Utility, Core Temp, Intel Rapid Storage Technology, Beats Audio Controls, ATI Control Center, Bluetooth, Synaptics Touchpad Control.

Reboot time:

And then the "pimped" one. All startup programs, services and processes not necessary to run Windows disabled to get fastest possible result:

I can leave with these results, even the longer one is OK, for I reboot normally only when Windows Update asks for it and that does not happen too often.

Either of those times would be plenty fast enough. I reboot when I have to for an install/uninstall or an update......other than that, I'm up and running for a week at least. It doesn't matter if my PC reboots in 1 second or 60 seconds honestly, as it happens so infrequently. I remember getting clients computers and the start/restart time being well into the "minutes" just to get on the desktop, much longer for a "usable" desktop......ugh.

Those are great reboot times Kari. One thing I did notice when I sys-prepped my system and moved everything back to the C: drive, reboot was must faster, say 30 seconds or so, than with using separate OS and data drives.
In the end it doesn't seem to effect performance. Like overclocking benchmarks, reboot time is a bragging point. :p
