Solved Recurrent BSOD, Probably Related to Graphic Card

Hello,

I've been getting blue screens while playing League of Legends and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (but not while playing Unepic). These are the three games I've been able to test. The crashes don't happen while not playing games (haven't tried any other heavy work, though).

First, only the games crash. It takes some time until they do. Before that, I can play without problem. When I attempt to reconnect or restart, the BSOD comes.

On the bottom of this post, you can find possibly related files and reports.

Solutions I've tried:
-I've installed the latest AMD graphics card driver (Catalyst Omega 14.12). Although, I'm not sure that this process was immaculate, since I'm not an expert.

-I've checked my motherboard's BIOS version, which turned out to be up to date.

-I've installed the latest motherboard chipset update.

-Since I had read something about this problem having the possiblity of being caused by RAM problems (rather than graphics card), I ran Windows 7 inbuilt memory diagnosis tool. It showed no negative results. But maybe it's not very reliable.

None of these worked so far.
Any ideas? Can you lead me step by step?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

16 crash dumps have been found and analyzed. Only 10 are included in this report. 3 third party drivers have been identified to be causing system crashes on your computer. It is strongly suggested that you check for updates for these drivers on their company websites. Click on the links below to search with Google for updates for these drivers:

atikmdag.sys (ATI Radeon Kernel Mode Driver, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.)
atikmpag.sys (AMD multi-vendor Miniport Driver, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.)
nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 337.88 , NVIDIA Corporation)

If no updates for these drivers are available, try searching with Google on the names of these drivers in combination the errors that have been reported for these drivers and include the brand and model name of your computer as well in the query. This often yields interesting results from discussions from users who have been experiencing similar problems.

Read the topic general suggestions for troubleshooting system crashes for more information.

Note that it's not always possible to state with certainty whether a reported driver is responsible for crashing your system or that the root cause is in another module. Nonetheless it's suggested you look for updates for the products that these drivers belong to and regularly visit Windows update or enable automatic updates for Windows. In case a piece of malfunctioning hardware is causing trouble, a search with Google on the bug check errors together with the model name and brand of your computer may help you investigate this further.

Hello and welcome to SevenForums!:orb:

The problem is caused by your graphics driver. Run Display Driver Uninstaller(DDU)
Make sure you tick the Uninstall C:/AMD and C:/NIVIDA folders while you are in DDU when you are done running DDU install your graphics driver again and you should be good to go! This is the guide for DDU: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/83814-drivers-clean-left-over-files-after-uninstalling.html

Remember to remove Catalyst and only install the graphics driver.

Thanks for the help.

I did it, but my game just crashed, and it'll result in a BSOD if I try to play again.

I think I might have missed some steps, so I'll try again (I forgot to run DDU on NVIDIA, for example). If it fails to work again though, I probably won't be able to update until next week.

Thanks again. Just to be sure, I tried to open the game again (TESV:Skyrim), and got a BSOD. You can find the analysis of that in the bottom (which is identical to the old ones I think).

For being absolutely sure, these are what I have to do right?
1- Uninstall the AMD driver from Programs and Features.
2- Open in safe mode.
3- Run DDU.
4- Run AMD's driver installation manager. Uncheck everything other than the display driver itself.
5- Boot normally.

Also, as something that crossed my mind - there is this "AMD Gaming Evolved" thing installed. DDU didn't delete it. May it be causing the problems?

Alright, so, I think this time I did everything you told correctly. The game still crashed though.

Any other ideas? It's very frustrating having to reboot the PC in every few hours.

I don't know if it's helpful, but here's something: I browsed the internet. Meanwhile, my GPU temperature was 31. Then I played LoL for a few hours and it didn't crash. When I stopped playing, it was 48 degrees celcius. And, after an hour of waiting or so (without work burden on the PC), it hasn't gone down. Can you interpret anything?

Update: Been a lot of hours now, and still 48 degrees.

Alright. Cleaned all the fans (and the cards' surfaces). Played a few hours of Skyrim again. Crashed near 56 degrees I think. I waited until it cooled down to 48 (and it didn't seem to go down any more than that). Then I tried to play LoL and the instant the match started, I had a blue screen. So, the pattern is still there, first game crash, then immediate blue screen no matter how much you wait after the crash.

Alright. Hopefully, since it's only a year old, guarantee shouldn't be a problem... Really thank you for support!

By the way, should I flag the thread as "solved"?
