Recycle Bin Corrupt and Permission settings confusion - external hdd

Sorry - I did not post my permissions - It looks like I gained Authenticated Users.

Just a little observation. Looks tidier than it was before. But unsure.

Alright -- I stuffed up - I just went to command prompt.

Not everyone is perfect.

I appreciate you assisting such a silly person as me

Thanks for the reply back -- you are a very patient person - I really do owe you.

I am now back to the recycle bin issue - but will go to the suggestion from another person of either renaming it

It has not finished scanning through the files yet - I do store a lot of information on the drive.

I am going to have to buy another hard form of storage I think.

I hope this looks alright.

I still am not able to move items to the external hard drive - I will do a clean boot.

I am happy with the operation at the moment.

I am most worried about "file access denied' - but I am thinking this will go.

Thank you :)

in elevated command prompt
Code:
rd /s /q F:\$recycle.bin

Can you make files in root folder of F?
Can you delete files in root folder of F?

Can you do the same in any subfolder?

There is now no files in the recycle bin after I went back in - I call it at success.

You have taught a learner how to do something new.

I think you are magical.

I wish I had a million dollars to give to you. Just a refresh and my files are going.

One more thing to fix and that is it.

Thank you - no wonder some geeks get frustrated with me.

I think what fixed it was the last profile to get rid of it. I think it had some files that had a combination of letters and numbers in it anyway. No lose. All is working with no error messages.

Dear Kaktussoft,

Thank you for all the assistance that you gave me in my computer issue.

I have successfully removed some files to my external hard drive and taken some of the pressure of the size that was on it. I had far too many files on my desktop.

I am just enquiring as to whether or not you could assist me in the following:

1. The recycle bin -- I have a screen pic of prior to the error message - would the files that appear in the folder be imperative to the running of my computer or be required down the track. This is the recycle bin on my computer.
2. The temp files that I have on the screen pic - I am unsure of how they are created - either via Microsoft Windows or Norton.

Thank you so much - I think that you have quite a talent and a great teacher. I am so sorry that I put in the incorrect options in the command prompt.

Those are:
  • recycle bin of user -1000 on some machine
  • recycle bin of user -1000 on another machine
What's the problem? Why did you display "system protected files"?

Can you please clarify what the system protected files - those were what was concerning me?

I will then solve this long forum question.

I have found that in some of the temp zip files that there are back up files of the desktop at a period of time.

Thanks again.

I am learning new stuff, but do not wish to go into files that are off limits.

I also went to go to do a back up on a Windows Backup - would I have to use the same logic as what you did to the libraries - I have skydrive as a library.

Thanks so very much

I had to log off and on for a Windows Update

Code:
cd %userprofile%
You see C:\users\<your name> now.

I tried to use the method that you gave me before - having issues with the Elevated Prompt - It will not show the path for the following:
cd %userprofile%

Attached are what I am currently faced with. I am unable to move anything at the moment
