I installed Windows 7 on an Intel SSD drive with ACHI and TRIM enabled.

Everything worked fine until 2-3 months ago when the PC suddenly froze. It would not reboot until I changed from ACHI til IDE in BIOS.

Right after boot or running TRIM the Recycle Bin work as it used to do when ACHI and TRIM was enabled. If PC has been on for a few days it will take maybe more than 1 minute before the Recycle Bin respond.

Is this a know issue with Windows 7, SSD and IDE? Can't find anythign about it.

What SSD do you have?

When AHCI is enabled, what exactly happens.

Can't run in ACHI mode anymore, but before PC froze in ACHI mode and forced me to boot in IDE mode I didn't notice any such problem with the Recycle Bin.

Hello.

I've been running the exact same SSD for almost a year now and have put it through its paces and haven't had an issue; maybe you should consider a clean install, have a look at the info below.

   Information

After you have made backups of everything you care to save and you want to do a real wipe "clean all" to the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) have a look at this tutorial at the link below, it over-writes everything, all the old Windows code including all the old Windows drivers, giving you the best possible space to install Windows 7 to; it goes hand-in-hand with a clean install.
