tried ASUSLive by Ethernet cable, it downloaded something, didn't much of a difference though. Some tiny irrelevant to my problem - update. Hoped it'll fix my missing wifi icon and lack of connection (laptop doesn't see it in the control panel either).

I watched a tutorial vid on yt and some dude said to uninstall the network adapter driver so it was supposed to reset the settings and unlock connections list. Nothing happened. Do I have to integrate all drivers (including LAN Ethernet Realtek) with Simplix like I did with e.g. Net Framework 4.8? I have the ASUS ROG GL503VD laptop and looks like it uses Gigabyte pcie gbe family controller for wireless connection.

I went to the Realtek official website, downloaded both Realtek USB Ethernet Controller All-In-One Windows Driver and Realtek Ethernet Controller Driver. Still can see the red cross on network icon.

Only Ethernet cable works and that's not the solution cause I want WIFI that works. Bluetooth also doesn't seem to work in Device Manager (not that I care much unless that's related to my WIFI issue).

Device Manager says my network adapter works and the drivers are up to date when trying updating them manually.

And the network icon looks like a computer instead of WIFI bar icon. I started WLAN AutoConfig service because it was turned off - still nothing. There's no such WIFI icon in Properties and I've updated my BIOS already. I'm digging through the related threads - sadly most of those are old and pre 7th cpu generation.

Some people resolve the issue by buying an external Ethernet usb card. I don't think it's broken though and it's just drivers and maybe the chipset problem/ lack of integrated drivers on my end before installed W7 and used Simplix. When I bought the laptop the wifi worked on W10.
