Have noticed on a couple of my machines I have multiple "Control Sets" under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE as in the attached jpg ?

Only one user (me) on these machines other than the Administrator account.

Is this normal and if not...should I remove any or all of the extra Control Sets...assumming I can figure out which is the correct/default/main one ?

Thanks...Tim

Tim HI

It is normal and NO don't delete them. A control set may be created when another application using a specific function is installed (ie word, word pad, etc). It is a way of orgainizing what gets loaded and where to look.

Dont mess with registry and dont use reg cleaners. Make backups. Have fun

If you do not know what something is in the Registry, do not even contempt the possibility of deleting it. In all honesty you should not even contempt messing around with the Registry without proper guidance and knowledge. Unless you enjoy reinstalling your system?
