Hi all,
I have a packard Bell netbook and while it was starting up the other day I began to get a littl fed up of the anoyying vista bootscreen because of the 1024x600 display.
Does anybody know if there is a registry entry and were it is so that I may be able to force it to display the windows 7 bootscreen?
Ashley :)

This issue had been unsuccessfully discussed at the forum.

There is no registry tweak simply because registry (along with drivers and other stuff) is loading after bootscreen is shown. Information about resolution is taken from firmware just before that.

Anyway I have not seen universal working solution for that problem for screens smaller than 1024 x 768.

Same thing here:( I looked on the iinternet and simply, your screen resolution doesn't meet the requirements for the newer boot screen.

Hi all
Thank you for the replies, I think you are right. I knew that the bootscreen did require a resolution of 1024x768. I just wondered if there was any way of forcing the bootscreen. Nevermind guys, many thanks for your help anyway :)

Ashley,
Different people mean different things by boot screen.
Please take a look at this tutorial and see if the info will give you what you desire.

On another topic, since I also have an ASUS netbook.
You can tremendously improve performance by:
1. upgrading to at least 2 GB
2. using a SSD
