Just after some advice here.
Basically I would like to reinstall Service Pack 1.
I cannot go back in time, as I installed SP1 when it first came out. It has been fine until recently. Because all has been fine I deleted all the old files and System Restore does not go back far enough.
I have the SP1 install.exe file (537mb), but when I try to install it I cannot as it tells me SP1 is already installed, which of course it is.
So, can I edit the registry, and kid the OS into thinking it is Windows 7 (but before SP1), so that I can reinstall SP1. I believe the relevant key is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
Thanks in advance.
