Reinstall win 7 plus Sp1 and beyond

I want to reinstall Win 7 HP (Original). Which I have before. I also have an SP 1 update disk.

I understand that that I may be able to download the updates beynd SP (or at least most), at once, save them them an update so that I don't have to wait for the myriad of updates over time. Is that possible?

I've never ran into many delays
But then again first thing I would do is change the update setting so the updates are sorted properly and I only focus on the real important updates using these settings

Some have reported installing this update might expedite the updating but I haven't needed too

Thanx, The settings you reccomend are the settings that I have. When I reinstalled in the past the masses of updates came over a 2-3 week period.

You must be doing something wrong then, all and every update should take no more the 2 maybe 3 hours. Yes all of them.

You should just create a Windows 7 SP1 install disc, so you don`t have to manually install SP1.

It should take 3 hurs, yes, but they all don't come at once.

There usually is a couple rounds of just Important updates.

Usually all you would need to do is shut down and restart a few times before the update system finds and offers them all.
