Reinstalling Windows 7

I have created a Disk Image on an external HD using Windows 7 restore process.
If a need arises, will I be able to boot of the external HD to restore Windows 7.
I did not use DVDs because the size of the image was around 60GB which would take a lot of disks.

You should be able to restore the Full System Image from the Repair/Installation disc. If you don't have an installation DVD or repair disc, be sure to create one first: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2083-system-repair-disc-create.html
