Remote Administration Tool Help

Hey all,

I know there are many similar threads to this one in the past... Not trying to pull off a scab here, but none of the threads I've found on this topic discussed what I needed in a little more detail:

I have kids with their own PC's.. I need a way that allows me to remotely connect (all connections will be over LAN/WiFi with one router) and set/adjust their Parental Controls on their accounts. I don't need pop-up boxes asking my kids permission to log in, or status windows saying I'm logged in, etc. I want the input devices on their machines to be overridden by my inputs, and short of manually turning off the power to the machine, be unable to stop me.

What IT tool/RAT will allow me to do this? Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

Team viewer. Will do that and more. It an remotely control, access, change, force a reboot (ie for win updates), can create a vpn, and more.

TeamViewer can do that

and set/adjust their Parental Controls on their accounts.
You will have full control - so you could do that via TeamViewer

I don't need pop-up boxes asking my kids permission to log in
If the child is on the computer - they will see a popup a few seconds before you have control - if the child clicks on the X in that popup - you will not have control

or status windows saying I'm logged in
TeamViewer can NOT do that - they will know that you are connected and in control if they are on the computer when you connect

I want the input devices on their machines to be overridden by my inputs
TeamViewer can do that - but it is really easy for the child to undo that and then disconnect you

and short of manually turning off the power to the machine, be unable to stop me.
See the info above - the child can win this war - until you get home

Thank you both for the responses and info. I too believed that TeamViewer was not equipped to handle the "absolute" control I would like from it. I do know that software exists of this nature; as a member of the Air Force, IT admins would frequently use an installed RAT tool to act, forcefully if needed, on a remote machine without being 'logged out' of control, so to say.

Are there any other tools/software readily available that would offer this convenience/ability? Thanks again guys.

There are tools that will let you do what you want (make a stealth connection to and take remote control of another computer without the remote users consent) but detailing how to do this might come close to what this forum rule is asking us to avoid:

10) Absolutely no posting of malicious content of any kind, e.g., links, software.

While the rule is geared towards software that performs a malicious act(s), detailing how to setup and use a RAT in the ways that you are asking for could be used maliciously by others that read/Google the forum. Such info is best not detailed in this type of public forum.

Of course, I could have it all wrong. Those that have been in the forum longer have a better feel for the rules than do I. They might help you do this. Just be warned: I've seen several Windows event logs that show automated tools hammering away at the RAT's password; even if the RAT is behind a NAT. Some RATs handle this well and others don't. Just think how horrible it would be if someone stranger were to gain remote access to your kid's computers and they just sat there watching their online life... or worse. TeamViewer handles this issue better than most and without letting it become a DoS for legitimate connections.
