Okay. Different approach. Go into control panel, and open up Programs and Features. Select "Turn Windows Features on or off" scroll through the list. You'll find "Tablet PC Components." If it's checked, uncheck it. Click okay, and reboot your machine. Let me know if button still appears.

Would it be possible for you to provide me with a screen shot of what you're talking about, just so I'm super clear on what we're working on?

When not logged in:
> Press the print screen key (near the top right of your keyboard. Says PRT SCR on it)
> open mspaint
> press ctrl and V.
> If it produces an image, save it (If it doesn't, let me know)
> Upload this picture (click on the paper clip icon, and search for the saved file).

I have a wonderful idea! Have any of you thought that just maybe, you cannot remove it?

I encountered this exact issue while creating images for my classroom computers and it has been driving me nuts. I eventually found out the root cause. It seems the addition of the "Windows Security Button" dialogue at the logon screen is the result of installing the Smart Notebook software and other related software from Smart Technologies for use with the Smart Board. I haven't figured out how to disable that feature or whether it can be done at all.

Then type in netplwiz and press enter
or type in control userpasswords2 and press enter.

click the advanced tab at the top. then look for the check box near bottom that says ctrl alt delete for security. UNCHECK THAT BAD BOY.
