Replace win10 with win7

Hello,
Please help,
Is there a way to install a 7yrs old window 7 ultimate laptop's FULL IMAGE backup to a 3 years old windows 10 computer? Since the image file contains all necessary files to operate and the win 10's HD is reformatted. All info and help greatly appreciated.

Probably. It depends on the hardware of the win10 machine.

Hello VeryGood7, and welcome to the Forum.

Which software did you use to create the win7 backup? All software that can create a full backup should allow the user to create a rescue CD/USB. You use the rescue media to boot the computer into the recovery options. Does that help?

You stated you had a FULL IMAGE backup. If the disk has been reformatted already, you wont be able to make a new Backup.

1. What is the make and model of the machine you want restore it to?

2. I would suggest an imaging program that includes an adjust to new hardware feature.
