My old desktop running XP SP3 suddenly stopped working with simultaneous failure of the P/S and M/B. I was using Wavelab Lite to record from my collection of cassettes and LPs and it was all working OK.
I now have a new desktop from pcspecialist running 7 Home premium 64bit. I can get Wavelab Lite to run but when I ask it to save the track, it just shuts down without saving anything. I do like the way the audio recorder is presented with its colour horizontal bars ( not waveforms ) volume levels making it very easy to spot overloads etc. I have downloaded Audacity and AIMP2 but both appear to use waveform presentation to indicate the status, not db bar graph. Can anyone help with a suitable freebee (or low cost) alternative to WaveLab Lite that has a similar presentation.
Thanks
