Solved Replacement Graphics Card Advice Needed?.

My present Radeon HD 5750 GPU is beginning to shows signs of wear. Would a Nvidia GTX 1050 be a compatible replacement, or is there anything else I would need as well?.
The stats for my present build are:
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3 Rev 1.4
CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 450 Processor
RAM: OCZ 8GB (4x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 5750 1GB GDDR5
Optical Drive: LG GH22LS50 22x DVD±RW DL LightScribe SATA
PSU: Corsair 430W CX PSU 4x SATA 1x PCI-E
Storage:
Main Drive: Samsung SSD 850 EVO 120GB ATA
Back Up HDD: Samsung Spin Point F3 500GB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 16MB Cache
Case: Xigmatek Asgard All Black Interior/Exterior

Not sure what a bottleneck means in this instance but, could you recommend a Quad-Core Phenom which would be compatible with my motherboard and where to get one?.

A bottleneck is kind of something that makes a thing slow down (eg. A fast car stuck in a heavy traffic and A faster graphics card but a slower processor.)

I'm not sure where to get a Phenom though. But it's best to get a used one you'd get pretty good deals on them.

I saw that page before but at 67yrs old I am unsure which one would be the most compatible without ending up needing a new PSU or more. Wouldn't a used one be a bit of a risk though. Would the CPU I have run Elite Dangerous at least as good as the Radeon HD 5750 in it at present. I could tolerate a reduced performance if that were the case then when I can afford it I could build a new PC based on the Nvidia GTX 1050. Would that be a possible solution?.

A Phenom II X4 955 would work out for you nicely. The problem is that I'm not sure where to get one in the UK. There must be online and local computer shops that still have them. If you have a computer shop that sells old equipment, they may have one that has been pulled from an old computer at a low price.

If you just want a graphics card to replace the one that you have with a bit more capability (at a good price), you could look at the Radeon R7 300 series. They are cheaper than Nvidia offerings, will most likely run your games, and won't bottleneck as easily.

As an example, look at the specs of this one:

Yes, it might be a little less capable than the GTX 1050, but you probably won't have to change out your processor to take full advantage of it. Just my humble opinion, though.
