Windows will not self repair despite all efforts...

I can get a command prompt :)

Is there a way to copy my themeui file from my Win7 CD and paste into SYS32 and WOW64 folders? I think this may repair the boot issues.

FYI...
I pulled themeui out of both above folders trying to reset a corrupted "patched" system

Welcome to the Seven Forums
See if this tutorial will help http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html it will not harm any data or programs you have installed, it will try to repair corrupt system files if possible you may have to run it three times with a restart between each time.

If it helps I have put a copy of the themeui.dll both System32 and SysWOW64 In a zip folder at the bottom of this post

Tried SFC /Scannow - system reports "trying to repair"

...wait until after reboot"...

...which puts me back at the beginning :(

I've read where booting up in Ubuntu might allow me to fix the folders... do you have other suggestions?

Thank you greatly!!
