Resolution/Aspect Ratio problem

Trying to get my resolution to the correct settings, but I only get two choices; 1024x768 or 800x600.

On a 15.4'' laptop screen I'm sure I should have the choice for 1280x800.

If anyone thinks they can help, just let me know what more information you need. Thanks.

Are you talking about the Asus X50N in your specs, or another laptop. As the X50N is supposed to go up to 1440x900, which suggests a driver issue to me.

Yes, I was referring to the ASUS X50N.

It had been working perfectly, but then I chose to install Windows 7. This is when the problem occurred. I explored driver issues, but Device Manager told me everything is up to date, and when I tried to manually apply a driver, it came up short.

This is the dxdiag info that comes under display. Not hugely promising.
If the original casing stickers tell the truth, it's an nVidia GeForce 7000m graphics card.

It's a driver fault, it's not detecting your display. Check the ASUS website for updated drivers, the Nvidia website, or any other vendor website you can find.

get your graphics card driver dont let windows auto detect it

enter the name into a search engine and download it

The driver on the support page is from 2007, and 32bit Vista. There is a link in my sig you could try if drivers from the NVIDIA site don't install.
