Yeah, unfortunately that happens quite often. System restore is very touchy. Try another restore point - maybe that works.
In the future, you may want to use imaging. Must be the same people developing that as the people who did system restore. I found that all windows backup/restore functions are flawed. It is better to use a free OEM program.
