Unable to create a restore point

Hello everyone,

I still use Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

For the last several weeks I have been unable to create a restore point.

I receive an error number 0x8000010 (or 0x8000001) and a message stating that the restore point could not be created because it had timed out.

What I think might help would be if someone knows the services that restore points depend on, their settings (manual, automatic) as well as the dependencies for each.

There is probably an easier solution but I can't find it. Other than guessing it has something to do with the above services and dependencies.

Better late than never, do you still have the problem?
How did you go about attempting to set a restore point?
